In 1992 the Haldimand-Norfolk REACH Merit Award was established to recognize members of our community who have made a significant contribution to chidlren and youth in the counties of Haldimand and Norfolk.  Each year nominations are collected by the agency and the recipients are selected by the Board of Directors and recognized at the Annual General Meeting.  This year, the Merit Award was presented to Bob Calder.

The Haldimand-Norfolk REACH Merit Award was presented at the Annual General Meeting held on June 23, 2010 to Bob Calder who was nominated by Tamara Pedley of the Ontario Early Years Centre.

The Early Years Team has known Bob for the last 6 years, and during that time Bob has been coming to the OEYC to help out in any way that he can.

Bob has always been there to help load / unload items, he patiently goes shopping for programming items at Thrift Stores even on holidays, he fixes things at the centre, he makes dinner for workshops, he shares a joke or two with the team, and the list goes on.

Bob has a positive attitude, enthusiasm and charisma that he shares with all whom meet him. He is always welcomed at any of the sites. The Early Years team appreciates the dedication, commitment, hard work and support that Bob provides. Tamara added that they also appreciate his delicious cooking and baking skills that are also enjoyed.

Congratulations Bob and thank-you!
