Youth Support Program
The Youth Support Program provides a menu of services and supports to youth on probation. This menu of options includes mental health counselling as well as various other mental health and support options.   Services are provided according to identified needs and are delivered in an individualized way for each youth (individual or group, long term, short term, etc.) Services are provided to the youth in their homes, schools and /or home communities.

The service menu includes a number of options:

Individual services are utilized for youth with higher need, higher risk, and multiple issues:
  • Individual counselling
  • School support
  • Individual and Family support
Individualized Lifeskills Support is available for youth with a specific need to learn new skills:
  • Job search
  • Housing support
  • Academic support
  • Life skills
Group programming is offered for lower risk youth in any of the following themes:
  • Problem solving, decision making
  • Female bullying
  • Living skills
  • Addictions
  • Group programs may be run in conjunction with Choices groups
    • Choices
    • Choices: Managing Anger Effectively
    • Choices: For Girls Only
    • Choices: Values and Influences
The program is available to youth between 12 and 18 years, who are on Probation.  Youth are referred to the program by their Probation Officer.
