The Child and Youth Crisis Service is a crisis line, operated by a qualified crisis worker, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It provides support for children, youth and their families who have a concern about their own or a child or youth's mental health. The Crisis Service also provides crisis follow up, including connecting callers to other helpful community resources. This service is available on the telephone or in person. Other service providers who have concerns about the mental health of a child or youth are also welcome to use this service. The Crisis Service often works together with the local hospitals, schools, Children's Aid Societies, Ontario Provincial Police, doctors, and women's services. Am I eligible? The Child and Youth Crisis Service is available to any child or youth, under the age of 18 who resides in Haldimand or Norfolk counties. Anyone who is concerned about the mental health of a child or youth may also call the crisis service for assistance. Is there a cost for this service? There is no cost for this service.
