CONTACT Haldimand-Norfolk was established to help people get information and be connected with services with one phone call. CONTACT can help you if you are calling about children and youth who need counselling or need help with disabilities or developmental concerns. CONTACT can also provide help for adults with developmental disabilities.

CONTACT helps you to access the most appropriate local and area programs and services for children and youth with emotional, behavioural or developmental concerns and adults with developmental disabilities.

With one phone call you will be linked with appropriate children's mental health and child and adult developmental services. Information will be documented accurately and fully to prevent having to tell your story many times.

CONTACT Resource Coordinators can help you determine if you would benefit from resources offered by one of our service partners or another community resource. They are also able to help individuals who have complex, unique and urgent needs, who may need extra help finding services.

CONTACT is responsible for the Passport Initiative which provides funding for individuals with a developmental disability who have left school and want to find more ways to participate in their community. This funding can be used for activities that encourage personal development and help people achieve their full potential.

CONTACT also supports the Residential Placement Advisory Committee, which is a group of people who meet to review the residential placement of children in group homes or programs.

In partnership with the community, CONTACT publishes and updates the Community Service Plan. This plan is used to identify trends in service needs and gaps in existing services. It is also used to make recommendations to improve services in Haldimand and Norfolk counties.
